An historical note on
the Staff Ombuds Office at Berkeley: The UC Berkeley Staff Ombuds
Office was established in September of 1984 by Chancellor Ira Michael
Heyman upon the recommendation of the Chancellor's Staff Advisory
Committee and with the support of the Berkeley Staff Assembly. On the
Berkeley campus the function is decentralized. There are three
separate ombuds offices for Faculty,
Staff, and Students.
